The Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78-02 Gundam (E.F.F. Prototype Mobile Suit) is a High Grade (HG) Gunpla kit from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. The Gundam RX-78-02 Gundam is piloted by Amuro Ray.

The RX-78-02 Gundam is depicted as it's early Earth Federation prototype form. The RX-78-02 design is more modernized compared to it's original counterpart The RX-78-2. The major differences are the highly detailed redesign along with more armaments installed on the Gundam. Examples of the armaments are the added chest vulcans, shoulder cannons, and forearm guns.

The kit features a more modernized RX-78-02 with attention to detail, more panel linings. Included in the kit are interchangeable parts to make your Gundam look like the Early Type or the Middle Type. The Early Type features the added armaments such as the shoulder cannons, asymmetrical forearm guns, and rear mounted cannons. The Middle Type includes symmetrical parts throughout the body, making it loser to it's iconic appearance. There are also added gimmicks for a more articulate dynamic pose. The RX-78-02 is a more detail oriented build for those who want to upgrade their Mobile Suit Gundam collection.
