Vintage Bandai HG RX-79 GUNDAM vs ZAKU II (JAF-CON Edition)

The Bandai HG 1/144 RX-79 Gundam vs MS-06J Zaku II High Grade (HG) JAF-CON Edition is a rare Gunpla kit  released in 1996. This unique kit comes with two Mobile Suits from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. 

The RX-79 Gundam vs MS-06J Zaku II JAF-CON Edition was a special release for those who attended the Japan Hobby Convention in 1996. This limited time release sports a translucent RX-79 Gundam and a red MS-06J Zaku II. On the box, builders can spot the official JAF-CON sticker that signifies the changes made inside.  

Starting with the RX-79 Gundam, it sports a head to toe translucency including its shield, beam saber hilt, backpack, and weapons. The only color one can see from it  are the stickers that comes with it and the joints. Speaking of the backpack, the RX-79 Gundam has a functional backpack that can open or close. It can be interchanged with the jetpack unit that holsters the twin beam sabers. The side cheek antenna can also be switched out for a more personalized look.

The MS-06J Zaku II sports a more Char Aznable look with the red finish. The Zaku II has an interchangeable head piece to sport it's Commander radio antenna head or a regular type with a flat head piece. The Zaku II comes with different armaments such as it's 120mm Machine Gun, 175mm Recoilless Rifle.

This kit comes with both Mobile Suits, both with it's own unique color way and ready to be posed together once the build is complete. Recreate your favorite scene from the OVA an present it proudly on your shelves. People will definitely bring up the special transparent choice the RX-79 has on it.
